Head Start Kids at the San Carlos Apache Reservation

The Greater Arizona eLearning Association - with it's affiliation with the Global Literacy Foundation, a 501(c)(3), non-profit, charitable organization - is very proud to kick-off this year’s initiative to bring OLPC XO laptops to the schools in the greater Arizona marketplace. Our minimum purchase of these OLPC XO laptop computers has to be 100 laptops at $299 each, and we are going to do this with the proceeds from this event.

Research Committee Meeting Minutes

The Research Committe (RC) is working on an eLearning Survey to deliver to the membership. The purpose of GAZEL Survey is to gather what the membership are doing related to eLearning and what research they are interested in or are doing themselves. We will use the eLearning Research Portal Study as a source. We will use the survey to find out what the CEOs want GAZEL to do to represent their company.  The RC will review the draft survey within 1-2 weeks and then launch the survey in January. We hope to have some results to report at the CEO Breakfast on 17 Jan 2008. We will also encourage the CEOs and the GAZeL Board to take the GAZeL eLearning Research survey.

The purpose of this meeting was to brainstorm in the following areas:

A.

  1. Who we are
  2. What our needs are in order to function on an equal footing with other technology organizations.
  3. To be able to present the need for membership dues by enumerating how the dues will be used.

B .How we will describe GAZeL.

1. GAZeL is for all eLearning no matter what level of learning is necessary.
