How Do I Post Meeting Minutes?
The 'Minutes' content type allows the attachments of minutes to events. You cannot add minutes through the 'Create content' page, but must add them through the actual event.
To add Minutes, open the Event and use the command link listed at the bottom of the post. Look for 'Post minutes to this event'. If you see 'View minutes', this means minutes have already been posted. View them and edit if you wish.
If you are using the 'Board Meeting Minutes' Book page method, please make sure you select the eLerning term 'board' to make sure the post appears in the main 'Minutes' listing.
To restrict visibility to Board members only, be sure to set the 'Grants' permissions appropriately. There's a 'Grant' FAQ entry for this as well.

Here are some highlights from the ALT conference: a report on two presentations from the business sector, and a fascinating seminar on the divide between businesses who use internet and communications technology (ICT), and those who don't.

Getting a Foothold In Social Media: A Get-Started Guide for Small and Medium Businesses
One of the most frequent questions I get asked, especially by those in smaller businesses, is “where do I start?” Getting off the ground in social media can be like trying to eat an elephant all in one sitting, but it doesn’t have to be.
So I’ve taken some of my best practices for getting started, and packaged them into this free e-book called Getting a Foothold In Social Media: A Get-Started Guide for Small and Medium Businesses. I focused it on this group because they seem to have the fewest resources and most questions, but by all means, I think many of the tenets remain the same no matter what size business you’re in.

Open Source
Open source is a set of principles and practices that promote access to the design and production of goods and knowledge. The term is most commonly applied to the source code of software that is available to the general public with relaxed or non-existent intellectual property restrictions. This allows users to create software content through incremental individual effort or through collaboration.
Mobile Learning
M-learning
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
M-learning, or "mobile learning", now commonly abbreviated to "mLearning", has different meanings for different communities. The term covers:
One Laptop Per Child Initiative
OLPC'a goal: To provide children around the world with new opportunities to explore, experiment and express themselves.
The project's origins go back more than four decades to the early days of computing, when most machines were still the size of small dinosaurs, and almost no one dreamed they would ever be suitable for children. But pioneering thinkers like Seymour Papert disagreed sharply, and over time led the long march from radical theory to reality proving the immense power of the personal computer as a learning tool for children.
