Writing a New Purpose Statement

Board, we are asking you to get involved by helping us craft a Purpose Statement for the new web site. The new purpose statement will appear on the home page of the new web site. The Purpose and Character statements which appear in the GAZeL bylaws are below:

Purpose

GAZeL will help Arizona eLearning enterprises and educational institutions become leaders in the industry, and will promote eLearning as a viable and pervasive tool for teaching, learning and conducting business on a local and global level.

Character

The character of affairs of the corporation will be to: (1) educate the community; (2) coordinate and facilitate action projects and community initiatives; (3) develop collaborative funding and resource development strategies to: (1) promote and support the adoption of eLearning in business, government and education; (2) ensure that all of Arizona’s citizens, businesses and organizations will have access to the technologies and skills to participate in the electronic learning future; (4) support the application of technology for educational development in Arizona.

Here are possible choices for a new purpose statement. Use the "add new comment" link (page bottom) to discuss keeping the current purpose and character statements, to make or revise a new statement (1-3), or to write a new purpose statement.

1. In today's tough business environment innovation and business development is the name of the game. GAZEL, the Greater Arizona elearning Association is an Arizona statewide High Tech Industry Cluster Organization. Our mission is to support Arizona eLearning companies in creating advanced eLearning technologies and services, and increasing their share of revenues in the growing global eLearning market. GAZEL is an alliance of educators, eLearning practitioners, and consumers and providers of eLearning technology and services.

2. In today's challenging environment, rapid pursuit of innovation, professional and business development, and academic achievement is a necessity in this fast-paced global economy. Our mission is to actively support Arizona eLearning and technology collaboration-related companies increase their revenues while helping K-12+ and other professionals introduce and develop new opportunities, find and share relevant research to increase ROI and develop key resources. GAZeL is an alliance of educators, eLearning practitioners, corporate and institutional consumers and businesses providing eLearning education, technology, and related services.

3. In today's challenging environment, seeking innovation, professional and business development, and academic achievement is the name of the game. Our mission is to support Arizona eLearning companies in increasing their revenues and help K-12+ and other professionals to develop new opportunities and find research and key resources. GAZeL is an alliance of educators, eLearning practitioners, and consumers and providers of eLearning education, technology, and services.
