Changing eLearning from Ordinary to Extraordinary!
When I talk to others regarding eLearning they are:
-
Either afraid of it or puzzled by it,
-
They seem to either embrace it or rationalize rejecting it,
-
Most try to compare it to the past with no picture of the future.
The more I think about what elearning has become and its acceptance in the marketplace and in institutions, it takes on the presence of this quiet "Knowledge Worker's Guardian Angel".
Second Life
Definitions of Second Life on the Web:
Second Life is an open-ended virtual world created by San Francisco-based Linden Lab. It is similar to There, another such world created around the same time, in that one of its primary focuses is socialization, but the similarity ends there. The brain child of former RealNetworks CTO Philip Rosedale, Second Life gives its users (referred to as residents) tools to shape its world. ... Second Life website: http://secondlife.com/whatis/

Membership Meeting 9 July 2007
We discussed the following items and Sheri will provide some of the following to the Board on Tuesday, 10 July
- Identify GAZeL Membership Groups (Audience)
- Identify promoters for each of the identified groups
- Help promoters set up forums to support the identified groups (e.g., implement code of conduct, ethics, policies, etc.)
- Identify marketing strategies for "incentivising" each group (e.g., K-12+ wants Best Practices, Good Tools, etc.). For each of the groups, answer the question, what is it in for me.
- Provide timeline for implementing membership scheme from no membership to different levels. The schedule will include when we will implement the promoters, marketing blitz, CRM and introduction before the September conference.
- Discuss potential reports that the membership committee can provide the Board.
- Introduce user interest surveys that GAZeL can implement.
- Discuss GAZeL potential to attract sponsors.
- Expand the User info to include products and services. Does the Board have other ideas.
