GAZeL Website Fixes

The website for GAZeL, the Greater Arizona eLearning Association is built on the Drupal platform with the CiviCRM as the core module for our database. We are looking for experienced Drupal experts to volunteer time to assist us in:

  • updating the Drupal core, CiviCRM and installed modules
  • determining if the current CiviCRM install is corrupt or just needs to be reconfigured
  • providing a list of proposed fixes, bugs, and new requirements
  • installing and/or configuring modules, as needed, to support membership management, financial management and reporting, online registration and payments for membership/sponsorship/events, volunteer and committee management, e-mail marketing, Board and committee collaboration, etc.

Download PDF of this request below

Priority One

  • Assess the current CiviCRM install to determine if the database is corrupt
  • Install security and version updates to the Drupal Core (Version 7), CiviCRM and other installed modules
  • Install and or configure Drupal CiviCRM for Associate recruitment, registration and tracking. Enable “Associates” to create a new account, receive a confirmation e-mail and login
  • Configure and/or install Drupal CiviCRM core and modules for membership recruitment, registration, online payment and tracking. Enable “Members” to create a new account, receive a confirmation e-mail, login and pay for membership through PayPal
  • Configure and/or install Drupal CiviCRM core and modules to support event registration, payment through PayPal, and tracking
  • Configure and/or install Drupal CiviCRM core and modules  for online sponsor registration, tracking and payments through PayPal
  • Configure and/or install Drupal CiviCRM core and modules to enable a searchable Online Arizona eLearning Enterprise database/directory
  • Configure and/or install Drupal CiviCRM core and modules to track GAZeL Associate/Member Interest Survey responses
  • Configure and/or install Drupal CiviCRM core and modules to enable creating list-serves for mailings to Associates, committees and other interest groups
  • Configure and/or install Drupal CiviCRM core and modules to register and track committee members
  • Configure and/or install Drupal CiviCRM core and modules to for simple list management and creation of list-serves
  • Configure and/or install Drupal module for financial management and reporting

Priority Two

Utilize Drupal core, and installed modules, to create an integrated web based system/infrastructure for membership management, financial management and reporting, online registration and payments for membership/sponsorship/events, volunteer and committee management, e-mail marketing, Board and committee collaboration, etc.

  • Enable Drupal CiviCRM  to interface with QuickBooks online or other financial management programs
  • Enable CiviCRM to interface with Mailman or other list management for simple creation of e-mail lists

Other considerations

  • How will the site look on mobile devices?
  • We need a separate staging and testing site, preferably hosted on a different server.
  • Do we need to be concerned about SSL
  • Databases should be backed up regularly and secure somewhere.
  • A full end-to-end test, along with a demonstration of how long it takes to rebuild the system from backups.
  • Maybe YouTube videos demonstrating to new members how to use CiviCRM/Drupal
