Strategic Research Symposium 2007

You are invited to attend as an eLearning Industry Expert!

The GAZeL membership, including corporations, universities, organizations, and individuals, has identified that accessing and disseminating relevant and timely e-Learning research as an important need. To fulfill this need, GAZeL is planning a statewide research meeting, entitled GAZeL’s Strategic Directions Symposium 2007. The University of Arizona (James Austin at UA, Director of Learning Technologies) and the ITT Technical Institute, (Alex Devereux, Director of Lifelong Learning) will host the June event.

Purpose: find out ways GAZeL can support AZ e-Learning research and act as a conduit between universities, corporations, K-12, etc. We want to find out who is doing what and find ways to help others communicate with researchers who have relevant e-Learning research or vice versa.

Objectives: for this brainstorming session are: (1) introduce participants to GAZeL’s research committee (.5), (2) use the *Ideation Document as a framework for individual discussion sessions (1 hour); (3) learn about the e-learning research and projects at both event sites (.5 hour); and, as always, (4) networking with colleagues with common interests (.5 hour). We will identify compelling reasons to gather and disseminate AZ research related to e-learning issues, highlighting those that promise significant returns.

Strategy: use the Ideation.doc to focus our discussion (broken down into working groups with eLearning experts assigned to each group). We hope to be able to deliver the meeting results at the GAZEL September conference. Event Information for the two locations (Tempe and Tucson).
