"How do We educate In A Rapidly Changing World"
Due to the overwhelming success of the 2010 Education Innovation Summit, ASU Skysong in partnership with NeXtAdvisors, will convene the next Education Innovation Network Summit on April 5-7, 2011 with an exclusive group of venture and growth stage companies, strategics, and education experts. This event features major keynotes, a number of expert panels discussing vital topics and more than 80 venture and growth stage company presentations. Over 400 attendees are expected. For a current list of companies and more information on the 2011 program and sponsors, see the web site.
Among the many reasons to attend this event is the opportunity to meet James Shelton III, Deputy Director of US Dept. of Education. As the head of the US DoEd's Innovation and Improvement section he will be responsible for the proposed $90 million Advanced Research Projects Agency-Education, ARPA-Ed, that will support research on breakthrough technologies to enhance learning. This initiative, proposed for next year's federal budget, was announced in President Obama's State of the Union address. He stated that America would "out-innovate, out-educate and out-build the rest of the world."
