GAZeL Executive Board Meeting – 11:30 AM to Noon, Thursday, May 20^th, 2010

Bobbie, Alisa, Steve, Alex, Richard, and Michele were on the conference call.

Alex called the meeting to order and thanked Cox Communications for providing the audio bridge for our meeting.

1)     Website Development: Steve reported the graduates have completed their master’s project to update the GAZeL website. It was a huge amount of work and is now documented. Primary updates were to the navigation, look and feel, and the CiviCRM. Scott Wakefield, one of the graduates, will assist us in moving the website to Brad’s server. The go-live date is TBD. It was moved and seconded to purchase a $25 gift certificate for Scott for his continuing efforts.

Alisa suggested we first test the new website before flipping the switch on the old one.

Alisa offered to reduce her fees for providing technical support for the new website if it would help GAZeL with budgeting. She could take an advisory position and assist whomever the board selected, to update events and send out notices. This will be discussed at the next meeting.

2)    Fundraising Issues and ATC Meeting Update: Alex reported to the Executive Board on the meeting he, Bobbie and Ted Kraver had with the Arizona Tech Council. A discussion of how the two organizations could support each other’s efforts was the primary discussion. Steve Zylstra followed up with an email outlining a possible partnership. The board requested Alex clarify two items:

a.     GAZeL’s membership fee of $300 – Is this a one-time fee or annual?

b.     GAZeL membership defined – Does it cover the Board as individuals?

GAZeL General Board members starting coming on the conference bridge so the Executive Meeting was adjourned at 12:10 PM.
