Minutes
1) Website/IT: Cost updates
Steve is still working with University of Arizona to find students to help revamp the web site. Presently, UA is reevaluating their strategy for the Master’s Program. Steve will write a proposal (paragraph) for asking students to help with the web site.
Alisa mentioned that we should make an effort to find royalty-free, stock photos to enhance the website graphically. There are many web sites with free graphics. Steve will put graphics on web site and send Alicia a link to the graphics so that she can use them as appropriate.
2) Networking Events: Communiversity and other upcoming events.
Communiversity (December 3) is the next event in Surprise, AZ. Bobbie has been to check the room. Todd Aakhus, Ph.D, Director of the Lifelong Learning Center is the host and will provide a tour. 3) CEO Breakfast (January 12th),
With approval from Pearson (breakfast sponsor), Bobbie will seek speakers from the State Legislature and ask them to discuss issues impacting E-learning in Arizona.
The next networking event is February 18, 2010 at Skysong. The speaker is Amy Weibel. She is a guru of assessment at Pearson. She can offer good information about assessment.
Bobbie is soliciting ideas for networking event speakers. Steve has a few ideas.
4) Strategic Planning for 2010: Steve will schedule the next meeting.
5) E-Rate issue in Arizona:
Several organizations are looking at the E-rate issues in Arizona. They are looking at ways to improve the E-rate application rate and easing the management of the program. School districts have many complex issues to deal with in applying and managing the E-rate process. Galen Updike is very involved with the organizations involve with E-rate issues. Steve will ask him to attend the next meeting (December 10).
6) Upcoming community events:

Dr. Craig Barrett is the guest speaker. He is a leading advocate for improving education in the U.S. and around the world. He is also a vocal spokesman for the value technology can provide in raising social and economic standards globally. He recently stepped down as Chairman of the Board of Intel Corporation, a post he held from May 2005 to May 2009.
The next meeting is December 10, 2009.
