GAZeL Board Meeting - Noon, Thursday, September 24^th

Attending: Bobbie, Michele, Casey, Brad, Steve, Maggie, Alex and Ted.

Meeting was called to order by Maggie at 12:10 and she thanked Cox.

Agenda Items:

1)   Confirmed Elected Officers by Bobbie

Alex – President

Maggie- VP

Michele- Sec

Bobbie- Treasurer

Committee still needs talk to Board members about their commitment and suggestions for other board members.

2)   Website/IT: Update Steve Things at UofA are pretty unsettled.

The test site is not being worked on.  Possibly it can be moved over and placed on Brad’s server.

3)   Virtual Conference Update: Speakers This has pretty much been put on hold until next year. It should be removed from the agenda until later.

4)   CEO Breakfast: Event Discussion  Jan 12^th, Tuesday, 7AM at the University Club.

5)   Networking Events: Feb and March 2010

Communiversity@Surprise  Bobbie told Todd we would like to have a networking meeting there Dec 2 or 3^rd.  They are working on getting the normal fee waived.

6)   Strategic Planning for 2010: Discuss 2005 Plan – Steve wants to set up a separate

time and iLinc connection.  Maggie wanted to pick a date.  Thursday Oct 8 @ 12PM.

Alex wanted to add things that have emerged since the 2005 plan was developed.

Maggie wants a notice of the minutes sent to the Board members.  A link to the minutes

will be sent out to the Directors.

Ted asked about today’s newspaper article about online learning. He thinks it may be an

opportunity where GAZeL could add advise to help avoid some problems.  Alex suggested this be included in the Strategic Planning meeting.

Next Executive Committee Meeting will be part of the Strategic Planning Meeting Oct 8^th.       

Next General Board Meeting Oct 22^nd.
