GAZeL Executive Board Meeting, Thursday, August 13th – Noon.
Attending: Maggie, Bobbie, Michele, Steve, Ted C, Casey and Alex
Meeting was called to order by Maggie
Agenda Items:
1) Website/IT: Committee Update Steve has not heard back from UofA committee. Brad says we can put our website on his server if it works.
He will host us for free if it works correctly. Steve has a lady that is willing to move us to a different server.
2) Networking Speakers Update: Bobbie reported on a networking meeting in Surprise. It came from John Hagen about a combination of 6 communitycolleges called Communiversity. Bobbie suggested she, Michele and Casey go visit the facility.
Steve suggested we need a schedule before we can seriously work on lining up speakers. Bobbie mentioned that having monthly speakers is a lot of
Many people don’t usually sign up until just before the event.
3) Update on iLinc: August Event Dress rehearsal: Preston will be at the 8/20th meeting to discuss videoing the SkySong presentations.
4) Networking Events: Speakers Bobbie mentioned that we need sponsors for our next events. Alex suggested that we build a sponsor’s list and express our appreciation at the CEO Breakfast. Alex suggested we use our September Executive Committee date 9/10 to have initial discussion about Strategic Planning for 2010
5) Plan Info from CEO Breakfast AZ Club doesn’t charge us for the room or a projector. Mesa conference center charges $351.04 for the room and $589 for media equipment. The breakfast for 50 people is $835.
Our next Board meeting is August 27th.
