GAZel Board Meeting Minutes by Sharon Bolster

January 29. 2009

Members present: Ted, Brad, Cindy, Michele, Bob, Richard, Sharon, and   Bobbie

CEO Breakfast

42 present including presenters

Several email s expressed that they enjoyed the breakfast, one that expressed a “ho hum” response publicly.

Board expressed satisfaction and mentioned several aspects that were worthwhile.

Cindy suggested the book Disruptive Class by Clayton Christianson to help understand the concept of disruptive innovation.

Michele sent information to those who were interested in GAZeL activities.  She has a separate data base that will be uploaded later. She has contact information that she will send if anyone wants it.

Someone asks if the CRM is usable? Not close. Bobbie will check.

Michele wondered if the CEO breakfast should be placed on the schedule as early as possible.  Bobbie stated that she wants the calendar for the year established.  March 12^th is set. May is Mobile Learning. Ann Bolster sent a PowerPoint for review.

Virtual Conference

General discussion regarding whether or not a virtual conference is viable.  Cindy and Brad will be co chairs of the committee. Email will be sent to the original committee to confirm that they still want to serve.  Bobbie will assist with any secretarial work. Cindy and Brad will prepare a simple step by step plan and it was suggested that we start slow with one or two virtual presentations before we jump into this. 

Discussion about Skysong visit for Tuesday, Feb. 3^rd  Bobbie, Michele, and Casey to prepare for the March 12^th meeting. A discussion about a small office ensued. More information will be gathered to bring to the board.

Ted is going to contact David Alexander about the Virtual Learning Center located at Skysong.

Membership Drive

Question about Theresa Finnegan from Morgan Stanley (she was at CEO breakfast and is interested in GAZeL) receiving information. Bobbie will send some info too. The meeting was adjourned by Bobbie at 1:00.
