TRACORP MEETING A GOOD LEARNING EXPERIENCE
Why do people go to networking meetings?
- Meet other people.
- Learn more about a subject, or in this case a type of business.
- To eat.
The August 20th, 2008 meeting at the new TraCorp facility in Glendale was all three of those things. We had 22 people registered and four who came at the last minute. The first 30 minutes was buzzing with introductions, exchange of business cards and people discussing business, general experiences and commenting on the wonderful new facility. It was a little hard to find, but we all made it. Then the attractive sandwiches, salads and desserts from the Wildflower Bread Company were eaten by the group.
Of course Alex Devereux, GAZeL’s President opened the meeting with introductions and an announcement about our next networking event at the Air Force Research Laboratory on the grounds of ASU Polytec in Mesa. Click here for more information.
Andy Schermuly was the real story of this event. He spoke for a long time with a power point for backup. Not a person moved. Andy is the CEO of TraCorp which specializes in job training through eLearning. This was a very interesting story of a business that started slowly, had a few set backs and managed to climb to the rank of successful. As Andy puts it, “It still isn’t a big business , but it is getting bigger all the time and it is successful”. If you go to the TraCorp website www.tracorp.com you can learn more about this business.
Thanks to all those who volunteered to make this a successful GAZeL Networking event. Join us in October for the next networking event (link shown above).
