Media Arts Academy financed by the Boys and Girls Club will be a pilot program.. Also Thomas Pappas School will be represented. 115 dinners are minimum.
What ever we don’t make toward 100 computers at this event will be an ongoing effort because some of the sponsors want to continue to support the OLPC’s.
The golf event is the next day. All of the people who have given money will be represented.
The tournament starts at 2:00. We will have 24 people who are playing golf. Qwest wants to sponsor in the Mesa area. Disney will be doing air time after the event until June. The Phoenix Journal is going to write up what GAZeL is doing. They all wanted the 501c3 number so they can take it off their income tax. Michele commented that her invitation came thru the mail and it was mangled. Lauryn, & Alex addressed 600 invitations and Steve sent about 1500 email invitations.
Alex: “ We will have money to cover the event. We have time ( because of delivery time) to get more money in. In addition all people receiving OLPCs will need training. We will have time to get more people interested. We have a noble interest in place. We need to continue the support of our various vendors.)”
Alex: Wants the Board to think about whether the direction we are going is appropriate.
Also we need to be more involved in the community and share in their events.
Meeting adjourned at 1:05 PM
