GAZeL Board of Directors Meeting:

Agenda Items:

GAZeL-a-Ganza Update- Lauryn/Alex/Kelley

Bobbie wanted to know who were already on sponsor list so they wouldn’t be called again. Lauryn has connected with 5 ad agencies who will help.

A radio station (The Peak) is also going to help. Long discussion ensued about what lists to use to prospect. Kelley has a CRM on the website but the

list does need to be cleaned. Also it was discussed that our 501 C3-Global Literacy needs to be finalized so people can actually make donations. Before

the final approval we will be given a letter which allows us to accept donations. Lauryn said dinner with tax, tip etc is $70. Silent Auction still needs more items.

Networking Event – Bobbie/Michele

Maggie mentioned that pictures of our convention are on the website.

Tracorp will host the meeting sometime in July depending on when their construction is finished. Andy Schermuly will talk about building a business and we will have a speaker discuss our addition of K-12 to our work and our efforts to put OLPC’s on the reservations in Arizona and in some of the schools with very poor children.

Kelley spoke about “Save the Children” and our possible working with them. Several Tribal organizations are also willing to be involved.

Bobbie gave a report on the ATC meeting at the Capital. She and Ted met with the new ATC President, Steve Zylstra, and the discussion they had with him about GAZeL and

eSATS joining in the ATC effort to get legislation passed to enable Arizona to become more competitive in areas of research, science and math, improving teacher training and salaries, research in various technical areas by allowing partnerships with private businesses. After it was determined that we had a quorum Casey moved and Bobbie seconded that we support this endeavor.

Motion carried unanimously.
