GAZeL Board of Directors Meeting:

Meeting called to order by Alex at 12:05.
Summit Debriefing – Bobbie/Steve Bobbie Total bank account is $27,061-400, -12,800, 2000 so we end up with about $10,000+.
Steve: Everything seems to be positive. No complaints from vendors about low number of attendees.
He was disappointed in the numbers of attendees. He also encouraged our sponsors to participate in
in the breakout sessions which they did. State agencies were unable to pay for attendees which lowered attendance.
Steve mentioned that InterMedia did not do all the advertising that they had agreed to do which caused him more work. Then discussion of Mesa Convention Center help.

Bobbie: Ted has also gotten lots of good comments. 165 total attendance including vendors.
Richard: We got a lot of good responses about OLPC displays.
Alex: Summarized that the Summit was good and people are pretty happy and we made about $10,000.
Now we can use that to move up with our GAZeL-a-Ganza. Alex then thanked Bobbie and Ted for all their help. Steve pointed out there is confusion about membership vs sponsorship benefits.

GAZeL-a-Ganza Update- Lauryn May 1st Gala and Silent Auction and the Golf Scramble May 2nd
Looking for about 150 high end items for Silent Auctions. Looking for more email lists of
possible contacts. Lauryn mentioned that she had sent Kelly professional pictures of OLPC
computers.

Portal Development Update – Kelley
Need more people to help with CRM update to put in new information from Summit.
Portal is moving along.

Bobbie suggested another Networking Meeting after Gala.
Alex suggested 2 “goofy things”. 1. Event using Fried Tomato example
2. Some kind of fun Board Event since Board has been doing audio meetings mostly.
Tracorp will host a networking event for us when their new building is finished.

Question about when do we kick off Membership Drive. Alex suggested we do it with
the Gala. We need to have a keynote speaker telling how the OLPC program will benefit
Arizona. Then discussion ensued about working with OLPC to raise money for GAZeL.

Next meeting is Mar 13th Executive Board, Mar 27th for Board Meeting
