GAZeL Board of Directors Meeting

Alex called meeting to order at 11:12 and thanked all our sponsors and conducted a roll call.

Steve reminded everyone of Governors Council of Innovation at U of Phoenix Stadium Dec 6^th.

Agenda Items:

Membership Dues Intro Strategy Update - Kelley

Kelley gave update and we will start actively soliciting members after the first of the year.  This message is being included in all outgoing correspondence.  

Conference Update - Steve

Steve has gotten several sponsors and a few more are being worked on.  He requested that the Board members come up with their own list of people to contact. Steve told about other people participating in panels.

CEO Breakfast - Bobbie

Coming along well but needs help getting out letters of invitation. Presented brief summary of proposed program.  Final decision on speaker hasn't been made which has been slowing sending of emails.

Nomination Committee - Casey

The only "No's" were from Francine Hardaway and Ruth Clark. Michelle Smith of TraCorp is willing to help us.  There are still a couple people who haven't been heard from directly however the email was written so that if we didn't hear from someone it was taken as a positive response and they will continue to serve. Bobbie moved that the Officers and Board be re-elected with the noted changes.   Motion carried and all are accepted.  Casey will notify the new Board.

Portal Development Update - Kelley

You can go to website and use the CRM which includes 86 people who have been selected to be included.  We do have a generic brochure done but it hasn't been put where we can use it yet.  Kelley has also added a Jobs and RSPs sections and the FAQs will tell you how to use it.  There is also a video with a 7 minute walking video that is open to public. It is on YouTube. Watch the website for new things.  Website consistently has 12 to 40 anonymous users. Insight Newsletter has been put on hold.

Marketing Activity/Golf Tournament Update - Alex 

Still some question about date and place but we need to decide before CEO Breakfast.

Fundraising Idea - Doug Bernard

Service idea: Accreditation is being done by CITA but there are some problems which may give eLearning a black eye.  GAZeL could serve as an accreditation service to produce revenue. Discussion ensued and many questions were asked. It is possibly a time and place for GAZeL to position itself in this area. It was decided that the idea presented possibilities but needs further research.  Bobbie requested that Doug put something in writing.

Meeting was adjourned at 12:20 because Alex had another meeting to attend.
