Alex called meeting to order at 12:10.

Bobbie discussed the February 20, 2008 Summit Conference progress.  Speakers are being hard to tie down. Tim is going to be out of the country just after the meeting. Steve hasn’t gotten anyone to commit. Discussion about Brian Williams and John W from Microsoft as speakers.  Alex also suggested that we get a speaker about Second Life.  Kelley explained Second Life and how it could be of use to eLearning.

Decision Theater discussed by Bobbie.  Bobbie has not gotten the info from Sheri. Only 2 people have registered.  Joel called and confirmed conference room.  There is a conference phone available there.  Elluminate software will probably be used.  Alex would talk of GAZeL, Sheri would talk about Membership, Maggie about Research briefly and then Alex will speak about the Golf Tournament. Kelley will put everything together into a single presentation.

Discussion of membership pricing and what you get for the money.  Some people don’t know the difference between eSATS and GAZeL.  Maggie thinks there is no real attraction or appeal yet.  The Board looked at the purpose on the GAZeL.us website.  It was discussed and approved. The purpose will be included in all our collateral material.

Portal Development Update: More Board Support – Maggie/Kelley

Kelley said we could provide surveys and information about our members.  Then we went to Membership page. Maggie said Networking registration is up and working.

Research Committee – Maggie has been discussing with Bobbie a survey to send out about K-12.  There is already one being sent out by AZ Dept of Education and they seem to discourage anyone else doing one on that topic.  So we will have to have a different topic: possibly private schools, universities, job training and continuing education.  Kelley will work with his wife about a new survey.

Golf Tournament Status - Alex/Kelley have had a discussion with Rick Martz of Intermedia and they want to support us.  We have also had a discussion with The Legacy Golf Course.  They gave us the dates that were available and we tentatively picked Friday, Nov 30.

Kelley suggested we partner with a radio station and KEZ 95.5 was suggested.
