Changing eLearning from Ordinary to Extraordinary!
Posted June 26th, 2007 by adevereuxWhen I talk to others regarding eLearning they are:
-
Either afraid of it or puzzled by it,
-
They seem to either embrace it or rationalize rejecting it,
-
Most try to compare it to the past with no picture of the future.
The more I think about what elearning has become and its acceptance in the marketplace and in institutions, it takes on the presence of this quiet "Knowledge Worker's Guardian Angel".

Second Life from Sloan Consortium
Hello all:
During the previous several months, several of us have been investigating how Sloan-C can use Second Life (SL) for helping our membership interact and for delivering workshops. To begin our investigations, we leased part of an “island” from the New Media Consortium (http://sl.nmc.org ) in order to establish a presence in Second Life. The purpose of this memo is to tell you a bit about what we have discovered, invite you to visit the island and, if possible and if you are interested, to help us staff the site on the island.

Second Life
Definitions of Second Life on the Web:
Second Life is an open-ended virtual world created by San Francisco-based Linden Lab. It is similar to There, another such world created around the same time, in that one of its primary focuses is socialization, but the similarity ends there. The brain child of former RealNetworks CTO Philip Rosedale, Second Life gives its users (referred to as residents) tools to shape its world. ... Second Life website: http://secondlife.com/whatis/
